Parent Letter

Tuesday, March 21

Dear Parents,

I wanted to introduce myself as your son’s new small group leader (7th Grade Boys) on Sunday mornings at North Star Church. Also, I wanted you to know about an informal class get-together we are planning this Sunday. (If you are currently attending another church and no longer want your son to be on the class role, please let me know at 770-000-0000.)

Who We Are

As a sophomore in high school, I went on a ski trip with a Christian group because a girl I liked was going. While I was there, I met Jesus. I got over the girl, but after 27 years, I’ve never gotten over Jesus. He changed my life so completely that I began reaching out to my teenage friends, many of whom also made decisions for Christ. I never lost that vision for how God could change the lives of students.

I've been working with small groups for two years here at North Star Church and really love the kids I've worked with.

I have four boys of my own (14-,11-, and 6-year-old twins), I share some of the struggles and joys you go through as parents.

Gary _____ co-teaches the class with me. He has been involved with student leadership, is an intern with Russ at North Star, and wants to go into youth work and missions. He’s great to work with , has a heart for God, and is the type of young man that our students can look up to.

That’s all to say that we love youth and are committed to helping them through the hazards that face them during their teen years. As you get feedback from your son on our class, please let us know how we can do a better job.

We’ll try to call the members of the class, e-mail them, and keep in touch any way we can. We’ll also plan a few events with the class so that we can get to know each other outside of church.

Class Social This Sunday!

This Sunday, March, 26th, from 11:30 (after small group) till 1:30, Gary and his parents have invited the class to their house for a fellowship. (If you need to go to the 11:30 service as a family, feel free to drop your son by after the service.) The house is only 5 minutes from the church.

If any of you could help with driving, please let me know (Phone Number). We’ll leave from the parking lot beside the gym (where the youth meet.) Please bring $3.00 for the pizza and drinks. Feel free to bring a game as well. We’ll have ping-pong and room to play in the yard if it’s nice.

I’ll have a map this Sunday, but here are the directions:

Thanks for the opportunity to work with your son!

Sincerely,

Steve Miller
